DESCRIPTION:

The famous Choquequirao trek Challenge 3 Days is one of the most beautiful, spectacular and Hard treks in the Cusco region. On this trek you will see the great Choquequirao ruins and have a real adventure enjoying the spectacular views of snow-capped mountains, great valleys, and amazing canyons. You will also see native animals such as andean Condors, birds, and native flora and fauna such as orchids and so much more. This is still a challenging hike, even for those who are trained! This is truly a unique experience in a lifetime not to be missed! We are specialized in this amazing route and offer the most frequent departures with experienced and professional guides.



DAY 1: CUSCO – CACHORA – MARANPATA

We will leave Cusco early in the morning at about 5:30 am. after we will head for the little village Cachora (2850m/9350f), a nice place surrounded by beautiful mountains and the majestic glacier Padreyoc (5571m/18278f). Here, we will also meet our horsemen who will accompany us during the trip. After having passed the overlooking Capuliyoc (2800m/9186f), we will continue descending to Playa ROSALINA where you will have lunch, after We will climb up to our campsite called MARANPATA (2918m/7332f).

DAY 2: MARAMPATA – CHOQUEQUIRAO – CHIQUISQA

At dawn, we will go to the citadel of Choquequirao (3033m/9950) called “Cuna de Oro” - the ‘Cradle of Gold’ - and enjoy the quietness at this place. Beyond, we will explore this archeological site, of which only 30 % is restored, in more detail: we will visit the section of the palaces, the liturgic fountains, the temple of the high priest, the section of the llamas and the Ushnu. after we will return to Marampata, where we will have our lunch. After we will return to CHIQUISQA, where our camping site is situated.

DAY 3: CHIQUISQA – CACHORA – CUSCO

After a delicious breakfast, we walk up a moderate hill towards the Capuliyoc pass. Once there we may enjoy the spectacular views of the surrounding mountains and the Apurimac Canyon. Then we walk for two more hours towards Cachora (2,850m/9,407ft) for lunch. Afterwards we take our private transport to the archeological site of Saywite with a lot of time to explore it. Finally our private transport will bring us back to Cusco at your hotel, arriving in the evening.
